London Crawlle submitted her NCB Foundation scholarship application after the deadline. She received the $600,000 award anyway.

The 17-year-old Bridgeport High School graduate had planned to become a nurse, but a process of exploring different careers changed her direction. She became interested in cybersecurity and began imagining herself protecting the systems used by people and organizations.

Artificial intelligence’s rapid transformation of the world helped sharpen that interest. For Crawlle, technology offered a new path and a chance to work in a field she had not initially considered.
