IBB Offers University Application Support to Thousands of Youth

Istanbul's youth have received extensive support during the university application period, thanks to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's (IBB) free counseling services. The IBB Youth Services Branch Directorate set up application guidance centers across 39 districts, operating daily from 10 AM to 7 PM until August 10.

A dedicated team of 210 psychological counselors and educators staffed these centers, which were located in 23 squares, 6 communication points, 4 libraries, 4 Enstitü Istanbul İSMEK centers, and 2 Regional Employment Offices. These centers aimed to assist students in creating their university application lists based on their scores, ranking, and university quotas.

Beyond the physical centers, the IBB extended its reach through the Alo 153 Solution Center for residents unable to travel to the main locations. Young people from outside Istanbul could also receive guidance by calling 0212 153 00 00. Notably, IBB's counselors provided in-home support for individuals with disabilities, ensuring accessibility to this crucial service.

The counseling covered a wide range of topics, including students' interests, talents, the facilities offered by various universities, and the career opportunities associated with different majors. This comprehensive approach aimed to empower students to make informed decisions about their future academic paths.
