Ibiza: Tourist critically injured after 30-meter fall from balcony

A shocking incident in Ibiza has left a 29-year-old Colombian tourist fighting for his life after a dramatic fall from a seventh-floor balcony. The man plummeted approximately 30 meters (98 feet) from the Tanit building in San Antonio, an area known for its bustling activity.

Video footage captured the harrowing moments before the fall, showing the naked man desperately clinging to the glass railing of the balcony. He repeatedly attempted to climb back into the apartment but lost his balance, falling and striking balconies on lower floors before hitting the ground. Passersby witnessed the terrifying event, with one individual attempting to help but arriving too late.

The injured tourist, who resides in Mallorca and was visiting friends on the island, sustained severe injuries including a fractured pelvis, serious chest trauma, and a critical head injury. He underwent surgery and remains in the intensive care unit, intubated and in critical condition.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall, reviewing security camera footage for further details. Tragically, the same building was the site of a similar fatal incident in 2017, when a 26-year-old British tourist died after falling while attempting to re-enter his apartment without keys.
