ICAC hears of 's**t sheet' allegedly targeting former minister

The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has heard allegations that a "David Elliott shit sheet" was created by senior Liberal Party operatives in an alleged attempt to damage the former state minister's career. Dylan Whitelaw, a former Liberal staffer, testified before the ICAC on Wednesday, detailing the document which contained a list of political and personal allegations about Mr. Elliott.

Mr. Whitelaw stated he did not recall preparing the specific document but acknowledged assisting in compiling a list of Mr. Elliott's past controversies. This included an incident where the former minister was photographed firing a gun at a Corrective Services NSW property. Mr. Whitelaw believed the actions of lobbyists Jeremy Greenwood and Christian Ellis, who allegedly wanted to damage Mr. Elliott's standing, stemmed from internal factional conflicts within the Liberal Party rather than direct instructions from fugitive property developer Jean Nassif.

The ICAC also heard that Mr. Greenwood and Mr. Ellis claimed to possess photographs of Mr. Elliott allegedly involved in an extramarital affair. Mr. Whitelaw described the pair as highly secretive about the details, stating he was not shown any images or given specific information. "They just told me that they had photographs and then it was that 'He was done, he was done' but nothing ever came out of it," he said.

Mr. Elliott has reportedly denied all accusations. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Mr. Elliott released a statement rejecting all allegations made by Mr. Whitelaw and his associates. He stated, "As most of Sydney knows I'm a devoted husband of 30 years to a beautiful woman who doesn't deserve to be treated like this by the party she has sacrificed so much for."
