"Ice Age 6: Boiling Point" Trailer Reveals Volcanic Adventure and Potential New Family Member

The beloved animated franchise "Ice Age" is returning with its sixth installment, "Ice Age: Boiling Point," which is slated for a theatrical release in February 2027. The upcoming film promises a dramatic shift in setting, featuring volcanic explosions, lava flows, and encounters with dinosaurs, as the familiar herd embarks on a perilous prehistoric journey.

The first trailer and official poster reveal the return of fan-favorite characters, including Manny, Diego, Sid, Ellie, Buck, Crash, and Eddie. The preview showcases the group being ejected by a massive volcanic eruption and navigating through a hazardous environment filled with ice blocks, rocks, and fireballs as they struggle to survive.

New regions within the "World Lost" are set to be explored, a territory characterized by active volcanoes and lava rivers. A particularly intriguing moment in the trailer is the appearance of a small squirrel at the conclusion. Many fans speculate this could be Baby Scrat, a character introduced in the Disney+ series "Ice Age: Scrat Tales," suggesting a potential expansion of the acorn-obsessed character's family.

The film is directed by John Donkin and produced by Lori Forte, a long-time contributor to the saga. This release marks the franchise's return to the big screen over ten years after "Ice Age: Collision Course" in 2016.
