ICPC Uncovers Fake Agency in SGF Office; Tinubu Suspends 3 Permanent Secretaries

Nigeria's Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered another fraudulent agency operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). The agency, identified as the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, was promoted by Prince George Buchi Nwabueze, who also operated under several aliases.

ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, briefed State House correspondents, stating that the fake agency had been illegally allocated office space within the SGF's premises. He confirmed that the ICPC has engaged with the SGF's office to gather essential information regarding the fraudulent operation. Aliyu also informed President Bola Tinubu comprehensively about these findings.

In relation to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and procedural weaknesses in the public service, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered another fake agency/office operating under the name: National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, which had been illegally allocated office space within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

In response to the discovery, President Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze. Additionally, three Permanent Secretaries, M.S Danjuma, Engr Nadungu Gagare, and Richard P. Pheelangwah, have been suspended with immediate effect. The investigation into these fraudulent activities is ongoing under the President's direction.
