Idaho Restaurant Shooter Died by Suicide; Bystanders Hailed as Heroes

Authorities have confirmed that the suspect in a deadly shooting at a Twin Falls, Idaho, restaurant died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police Chief Matthew Hicks stated on Sunday that investigators are certain 24-year-old Chad Williams acted alone in the attack that occurred Saturday.

The violence erupted at a newly opened In-N-Out restaurant, leaving three people dead and seven others injured. Two of the wounded have since been released from the hospital, while three remain in stable condition and two are still critical. Officials are working to notify the victims' families.

Hicks credited the swift response of an off-duty state trooper and an armed civilian for their heroic actions. Their intervention, he said, caused the suspect to move away from the restaurant, preventing additional harm. Detectives are continuing to investigate the motive behind the attack. Williams' family is cooperating with the investigation. The owner of In-N-Out, Lynsi Snyder, expressed her heartbreak over the loss of an employee, stating, "We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight."

The FBI is requesting any photos or videos from the scene to aid the investigation. Police found the suspect's body near the restaurant shortly after responding to the incident, which occurred around 2 p.m. in a busy shopping plaza.
