IDF kills two PIJ terrorists, one linked to Nova festival abduction

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Monday that it killed two Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists in separate strikes in the Gaza Strip, directed by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).

One of the targeted terrorists, Taher Ahmad Salem Abd al-Wahed, infiltrated the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. The IDF confirmed that he commanded the abduction of Inbar Hayman, a resident of Haifa whose remains were recovered after she was killed by infiltrating terrorists. The strike against Abd al-Wahed occurred on Friday.

The second PIJ terrorist, Salah Subhi Salah Qatrawi, was killed after allegedly planning attacks against IDF soldiers near aid distribution centers operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). The military confirmed his death.

Inbar Hayman, 27, was confirmed dead by Israeli authorities in December 2023, with her body held in Gaza for over two years. She was the sole female hostage remaining in captivity for much of the war following the November 2023 hostage releases. Hayman had served as a commander in the IDF's mixed-gender Caracal Battalion, a detail confirmed by the military after her body was returned. Her family stated that she would have urged them to continue fighting for the remaining hostages.
