Israeli defense firms showcase battle-proven tech at Farnborough Airshow

Israeli defense firms are leveraging the Farnborough International Airshow to display their latest military technologies, with global defense budgets surging due to ongoing conflicts.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) introduced ELLYON, a new multi-role aircraft capable of operating hundreds of kilometers away. This next-generation platform integrates electronic attack capabilities across the electromagnetic spectrum with advanced Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) functions. IAI stated that ELLYON significantly reduces the intelligence cycle and enhances operational freedom in challenging environments.

IAI Chairman Boaz Levy emphasized that ELLYON combines innovation with battlefield experience, unifying intelligence, electronic warfare, and mission management into a single airborne system for a distinct combat advantage. The aircraft also features long-range radar, electro-optical sensors, and satellite communications.

Alongside IAI, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems presented its Iron Beam high-energy laser air defense system and its integrated layered air-defense architecture. The Iron Beam has a proven track record, having intercepted thousands of threats over 15 years. Rafael also showcased precision-strike weapons like SPICE 250 and ROCKS, along with the LITENING 5 targeting pod, which is used by 28 air forces worldwide, including the Royal Air Force.
