IDF withdrew from Palestinian-American citizen's West Bank home after US embassy pressure -report

IDF troops operating in the West Bank village of Turmus Aiya were allegedly pressured by the United States embassy to leave a Palestinian doctor's home, KAN reported. The soldiers had reportedly attempted to establish a forward base in the residence on Monday.

According to KAN, the doctor and his family are US citizens. Despite an American flag reportedly being displayed at their home, IDF troops evicted them from the premises. The US embassy then allegedly reached out to Israeli security forces, applying significant pressure for the soldiers to vacate the family's home.

Shortly after the embassy's intervention, KAN reported that the IDF soldiers received orders to immediately leave the property. In response to the report, the US Embassy issued a statement to KAN, emphasizing that "the US State Department attaches the utmost importance to ensuring the security of its citizens residing outside the United States."
