IGP promotes 25 police personnel for exceptional performance

Ghana's Inspector General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno has promoted 25 police personnel for their outstanding contributions to national security. These officers are recognized for their crucial roles in apprehending robbery suspects and intercepting significant quantities of illicit drugs across the country.

The promotions specifically acknowledge the personnel's involvement in key operations. These include the arrest of six suspects linked to a GH¢300,000 robbery along the Portor to Kawempe highway, and the capture of four individuals suspected of involvement in a violent robbery in the Tarkwa area. Additionally, officers were recognized for intercepting 866 parcels of suspected cocaine at the Tema Harbour.

The promotions were granted in recognition of the personnel’s dedication, professionalism, courage and commitment to the fight against crime.

The Police Service issued a statement highlighting that these promotions are a direct result of the personnel's dedication, professionalism, courage, and commitment to fighting crime. Among those promoted are Chief Inspectors Bede Nwinbomeh and Joe Tetteh, who will also receive automatic entry to the Police Academy for their exceptional service. Several Sergeants, Corporals, Lance Corporals, and Constables also received promotions.

IGP Yohuno and the Police Management Board congratulated the officers, urging them to maintain their high standards. Yohuno assured that the Police Administration remains committed to recognizing and rewarding hard work and exceptional performance, reinforcing a culture of meritocracy within the service.
