IHSG Surges 7.38% in a Week, Reclaims 6,000 Level

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) experienced a significant market rebound during the week of June 8-12, 2026, with the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) surging by 7.38% to surpass the 6,000-point level.

The IHSG closed the week at 6,007.656, a notable increase from the previous week's 5,594.765. This positive performance extended to the market capitalization, which grew by 7.31% to Rp 10.524 trillion from Rp 9.807 trillion.

Transaction activity also saw an uptick. The average daily transaction frequency rose by 4.14% to 2.51 million transactions, up from 2.41 million. Similarly, the average daily transaction volume increased by 7.46% to 36.14 billion shares, compared to 33.63 billion shares in the prior week. However, the average daily transaction value saw a slight decrease of 7.07%, settling at Rp 25.06 trillion from Rp 26.97 trillion.

Foreign investors recorded a net buy of Rp 287.84 billion by the end of the week. For the year 2026, their net sell position stood at Rp 67.344 trillion.

The BEI attributed this positive performance to increased market optimism driven by enhanced transparency efforts. The exchange, along with PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI) and PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), hosted the virtual Public Expose Live 2026 from June 9-11. This event aimed to bolster transparency, investor protection, and capital market reforms. Additionally, the BEI has introduced dedicated sections on its website to provide investors with structured and accessible information on listed companies, including share ownership data and free float percentages.
