Ikeja Club to mark 60th anniversary with medical outreach

Ikeja Club is set to mark its 60th anniversary with a comprehensive program of activities designed to engage both members and the wider public. The celebration, announced at a press conference held at the club's premises in Lagos, will feature a variety of events including thanksgiving services, a public lecture, sporting activities, charity visits, and a significant medical outreach.

Sixty years ago, a group of visionary gentlemen, three of them came together with a noble idea: to establish a club that would promote friendship, integrity, service, fellowship, and community development.

Club President Musediq Adeleke stated that the anniversary serves as an important occasion for the club to reflect on its six-decade journey, acknowledge its accomplishments, and reaffirm its dedication to service and community development. He highlighted the club's founding vision of promoting friendship, integrity, service, and fellowship.

Our anniversary celebration is not merely a social event; it is an opportunity to reflect on our journey, to honour our heritage, and to recommit ourselves to the future.

The public lecture, themed 'Urban Club and City Development,' was chosen to underscore the role social institutions play in fostering civic values and contributing to urban growth. Adeleke emphasized that the anniversary is more than a social gathering; it's a moment to honor heritage and recommit to the future. The club intends to continue upholding values of excellence, responsible citizenship, and service to humanity. Vice President Abayomi Omoniyi added that the club has consistently impacted communities through its corporate social responsibility initiatives, extending these efforts to the public beyond its membership.
