Spanish rider Íker Lecuona achieved a career milestone, capturing his maiden victory in the World Superbike Championship at the Donington Park circuit in Britain. The Aruba.it Racing-Ducati rider triumphed in the first race of the eighth event of the series, marking a significant achievement after 141 career starts.

The race was defined by a fierce duel between Lecuona and his teammate, Nicolò Bulega, who had been on an unprecedented winning streak, having claimed victory in all previous races of the season. The intense competition between the two Ducati riders extended to the very last lap, with both narrowly avoiding a collision on the penultimate corner.
