Ilaria Salis ordered to pay 300,000 euros to fired collaborators managing Venice luxury B&B

Ilaria Salis has been ordered by a court to pay 300,000 euros to two former collaborators whom she dismissed without just cause. The collaborators, Valentina Dadda and Francois Gelmetti, now manage a fully automated bed and breakfast called Ca' Dadda near the Rialto Bridge on Venice's Grand Canal.

According to reports, the property, which belongs to Dadda's family and has been in their possession for three generations, features four tourist accommodations overlooking the Grand Canal. Booking a stay at Ca' Dadda can cost over 1,500 euros per night, as indicated by online listings for dates like July 28.

Salis has stated her intention to appeal the ruling, presenting a dossier of over a hundred pages that she claims demonstrates the dismissals were motivated. She asserts that she made numerous attempts to find a resolution before terminating the contract. In a video, Salis mentioned that she ensured the collaborators would not be left without financial support, given their current business activities.

However, Salis also alleged that the termination of their working relationship was fraught with conflict and that she was threatened multiple times. She maintains that there were indeed valid reasons for the dismissal, which will be presented during the appeal hearing. The lawyers representing the former collaborators and the collaborators themselves have declined to comment on the matter.
