Illegal fuel siphoning operation discovered in Cárdenas, Tabasco

Federal forces have disrupted a significant illegal fuel siphoning operation in the El Habanero ranchería of Cárdenas, Tabasco. The discovery marks a blow against the illicit trade of hydrocarbons in the region.

During the intervention, authorities located and secured a clandestine tap directly connected to the 20-inch Paredón-Habanero oil pipeline. The tap was situated on a property at kilometer 7+800, near the border with Huimanguillo.

In addition to the pipeline tap, officers seized a tanker truck with a 20,000-liter capacity and license plates from the state of Chiapas, which was apparently being used to transport the stolen fuel. Various pieces of equipment used in the illicit process were also confiscated, including an artisanal valve, 400 meters of black hose, 15 meters of high-pressure red hose, and six quick connectors.

The seized tanker truck, equipment, and the clandestine tap have been handed over to the Federal Public Ministry. This body will be responsible for compiling the investigation file to identify and prosecute the individuals involved in this criminal activity.
