Imisi’s public conduct sparks concern among fans

Two public appearances have pushed Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Opeyemi “Imisi” Ayanwale back into the center of online debate.

At the Lagos premiere of Folagbade Banks’ film A Mama Deola Wedding Story, a video appeared to show Imisi interrupting an interview involving former housemate Faith Adewale and a guest. Adewale shared the footage online with the accusation: “You walked onto a set where I was interviewing people on live TV and chose to do this. Someday, people will realise you are the villain in our story.”

Some of Imisi’s fans challenged that version of events. They argued that the available footage suggested Adewale had invited her to join him, turning the video into another point of dispute rather than settling what happened.

The premiere incident followed another widely circulated video from the thanksgiving celebration for Nollywood actors Lateef Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe’s triplets in Lekki. In the footage, Imisi dances energetically in front of Fuji singer K1 De Ultimate as he serenades her by name. The videos led some fans to question her conduct at public events and demand an explanation.

Imisi responded in an audio recording circulated on Instagram. She denied consuming alcohol at the premiere and said her energetic behavior was part of her personality. She also said that, even when she drinks, she remains composed. Her explanation did not end the discussion, as social media users continued examining footage from both events.

The latest controversy also revived memories of Imisi’s tense relationship with Adewale during their time in the BBNaija house, including a disagreement over a kerosene container during an argument about cooking fuel. Almost a year after winning the show, Imisi again finds herself at the center of a social media conversation.
