Imran Khan's sister allowed jail visit after Supreme Court ruling

Noreen Niazi, sister of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, gained access to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. This followed a Supreme Court decision allowing the incarcerated former premier weekly meetings with his family. Khan has been imprisoned since August 5, 2023, serving a 14-year sentence for concealing details of Toshakhana gifts and is also serving time in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

On Tuesday, while Noreen Niazi was allowed into the jail, his other sisters, Aleema Khanum and Dr. Uzma Khanum, were stopped at a security checkpoint. Aleema Khanum spoke to the media, urging the Supreme Court to also grant bail to Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. She noted that the court's order to send Khan to the hospital came after eight months of demands from his party.
