Indecopi to auction houses, land from S/27,400 on June 30: requirements and participation

Peru's National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property (Indecopi) is holding its fifth public auction of the year on June 30, offering 33 properties across Lima, La Libertad, Lambayeque, and Cusco. The auction, which begins at 8:45 a.m. at Indecopi's headquarters in San Borja, aims to recover debts stemming from sanctions imposed on individuals and companies.

These properties entered the auction process after their owners failed to pay fines related to violations of consumer protection or intellectual property laws. The minimum starting bid for some properties is as low as S/27,400, with a diverse range of real estate available, including apartments, land, and houses.

Participation in the auction is open to the public, provided they meet specific requirements. Interested bidders must arrive at least 20 minutes before the auction begins and present a valid National Identity Document (DNI). Crucially, they must also provide a deposit equivalent to at least 10% of the appraised value of the property they wish to bid on, payable in cash or by manager's check made out to Indecopi.

Individuals representing a legal entity or another person must present a valid power of attorney registered with the relevant registry office. Indecopi has reminded potential participants that failure to meet any of these conditions will result in disqualification from the auction.
