Independiente del Valle Wins with Paraguayan Goals

Independiente del Valle strengthened their grip on the Liga Pro title race with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Delfín on Friday. Paraguayan midfielders Hugo Lorenzo Quintana and Carlos Gabriel González were instrumental in the win, each contributing a goal to secure the crucial three points.

The match, held at the Estadio Banco Guayaquil, saw the home side assert dominance early on, despite coach Joaquín Papa fielding a mixed squad of starters and reserves. Independiente del Valle's goals came from Quintana, an own goal by Delfín defender Ayrton Cisneros, and González, marking their 21st win of the season.

Delfín managed to score through Argentine player Franco Ayunta and Jefferson Arce, but it wasn't enough to overcome Independiente del Valle's offensive pressure. The victory extends Independiente del Valle's lead to 23 points over second-placed Macará, bringing them closer to retaining their championship title.

With the league match concluded, Independiente del Valle now shifts its focus to the Copa Libertadores. The team is preparing for the first leg of their round of 16 tie against Deportes Tolima in Colombia next Tuesday.
