India defeats Pakistan 3-1 to win Gold at FIH Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship

The Indian Sub-Junior Men's Hockey Team clinched the Gold Medal at the FIH Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship, triumphing over arch-rivals Pakistan with a decisive 3-1 victory in Muscat. The team completed a dominant, unbeaten campaign, topping the Elite Pool table before their final win.

Goals from Romit Pal (5'), captain Ketan Kushwaha (12'), and Shahrukh Ali (13') crowned India as the Asian Champions.

Goals from Romit Pal in the fifth minute, captain Ketan Kushwaha in the twelfth, and Shahrukh Ali in the thirteenth minute sealed the championship for India. Pakistan managed to pull one goal back through Muhammad Usman in the sixteenth minute, but the Indian defense held strong to secure the win.

This significant victory not only crowns India as Asian Champions but also ensures both the Indian and Pakistani teams qualify for the inaugural FIH Youth Hockey5s World Cup by virtue of reaching the final. The Indian Sub-Junior Women's Team also contributed to the nation's success, securing a Silver Medal after a challenging final against China.

Pakistan pulled one goal back through Muhammad Usman (16'), but the Indian defence stood firm in the closing minutes to secure a 3-1 win and lift the trophy.

In recognition of their stellar performances, Hockey India announced cash rewards for both squads. Players from the gold medal-winning men's team will each receive Rs 2 Lakhs, with support staff getting Rs 1 Lakh. The silver medal-winning women's team players will be rewarded with Rs 1 Lakh each, and their support staff with Rs 50,000.
