India, S Korea Elevate Ties to 'Futuristic Partnership'

India and South Korea have forged a "futuristic partnership," a significant upgrade from their previous "trusted partnership." This move, announced during President Yoon Suk Yeol's visit, signals a deepening of ties across a wide spectrum of sectors, from "Chips to Ships, Talent to Technology, Entertainment to Energy." Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the shared democratic values and strategic alignment between the two nations, emphasizing their common outlook in the Indo-Pacific region.

In this period of global tensions, India and Korea together send a message of peace and stability. We are very happy that today Korea is joining the International Solar Alliance and the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative.

This enhanced relationship is particularly noteworthy as South Korea joins two key Indian-led initiatives: the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI). India views South Korea's participation in the ISA as a crucial step in accelerating global solar deployment and supporting the transition to sustainable energy systems. The ISA, a global platform launched by India and France, aims to mobilize finance and build capacity for solar energy, especially in developing regions.
