Indian education minister resigns after mass protests

India's Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, has resigned, yielding to widespread demands from youth protesters who sought his accountability for examination paper leaks. Pradhan announced his resignation via X, stating his decision was made to prevent 'anti-national forces' from exploiting the situation. He expressed deep respect for the aspirations and expectations of the country's youth. The announcement sparked celebrations among thousands of supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) rallying in New Delhi and other locations. Authorities had implemented measures to limit the protests, including restricting internet access and closing metro stations in the capital. The demonstrations intensified after police used tear gas and batons against students earlier in the week.
