Indonesia advances four to China Open 2026 quarterfinals

Indonesia is sending four representatives to the quarterfinals of the prestigious China Open 2026 badminton tournament, which is set to unfold at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China, on Friday, July 24, 2026. These athletes will compete across three disciplines: men's singles, women's singles, and men's doubles.

Jonatan Christie, the fourth seed in the men's singles, will be the first Indonesian to take the court. He is scheduled to face Canada's Victor Lai in the third match on Court 2, with play commencing at 9:00 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Later in the afternoon session, sixth seed Putri Kusuma Wardani will aim to advance further when she competes against the third seed from Japan, Tomoka Miyazaki. Following Putri's match, the women's doubles pair Rachel Allessya Rose and Febi Setianingrum will challenge the eighth seeds from China, Li Yi Jing and Luo Xu Min. In the men's doubles, the second-seeded pair Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri are set to compete against Kang Min Hyuk and Ki Dong Ju from South Korea. Fajar and Fikri enter the quarterfinals as the defending champions and carry the hopes of retaining their title. Their path to the semifinals hinges on their ability to overcome the South Korean duo. The China Open is a BWF Super 1000 tournament, boasting a total prize pool of $2 million USD, approximately 36 billion Indonesian Rupiah.
