Indonesia All Stars may have fallen 1-3 to Aston Villa, but coach Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto saw more than just the scoreline. He highlighted his players' bravery and ability to execute game plans despite only having one day to prepare.

The team focused on limiting Aston Villa's space, particularly for winger Alejandro Garnacho. Kurniawan instructed his players to press Garnacho collectively, with teammates providing cover. "Because we only trained for a day, the preparation was only in broad strokes. We want to play as a team, that's all," Kurniawan explained after the match. "So when Garnacho has the ball, someone has to cover. When attacking, we cover each other."

While Aston Villa dominated possession and scored three goals through Emiliano Buendia, Ross Barkley, and Brian Madjo, Kurniawan was pleased with his team's sustained courage and discipline against a superior opponent. Aston Villa's coach, Unai Emery, also recognized the Indonesian team's solid organization, especially in defense. "We got the rhythm of the game we needed, while the opponent also showed their quality. They played well tactically and defended very well.
