Indonesia Deputy Minister Urges Local Govts to Strengthen Family Welfare Teams

Deputy Interior Minister Ribka Haluk urged local governments to bolster the Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK), highlighting its critical role as a strategic partner in achieving Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045. Speaking at the 54th PKK Unity Movement Day commemoration in Makassar, Haluk emphasized TP PKK's extensive network, reaching down to the family level, making it a vital force in various community development initiatives.

Haluk noted that TP PKK has grown into an organization with a presence in villages across Indonesia. Strengthening its role is essential for supporting family development, improving education and health quality, and empowering communities, particularly in remote and underdeveloped areas. She stressed that TP PKK can mobilize local potential throughout the nation.

To ensure TP PKK programs run effectively, Haluk called for adequate budgetary support from local governments. The Ministry of Interior has issued a directive, Kepmendagri Number 900.1-861 of 2026, mandating local governments to allocate funds for PKK programs. She asserted that budgetary efficiency should not compromise regional commitment to these programs, which directly benefit the public. "PKK is an important matter that needs to be supported by the regional budget," Haluk stated.

The Deputy Minister also commended the dedication of the central TP PKK and its affiliates nationwide for their continuous contributions to family and community empowerment. She expressed hope for strengthened synergy between the central government, local governments, and TP PKK to optimize the implementation of PKK's 10 core programs.
