Indonesia: Former top prosecutor not yet internally investigated after corruption charges

Despite being named a suspect by the police four days ago for alleged corruption and money laundering, former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah has not yet undergone internal investigation at the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung). The case's administrative transfer from the National Police to Kejagung was completed on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

On Saturday, we received the administrative transfer of the case from the police investigation to the Attorney General's Office. This was followed by the handover of the examination report, evidence, and the suspect.

According to the Head of the Center for Information and Legal Affairs at Kejagung, Anang Supriatna, the case file, evidence, and suspect have been handed over. The handling of the case is now with the Jampidsus division within Kejagung, highlighting a collaborative effort between the police and the prosecutor's office.

So, the handling of the case is handed over to Jampidsus at the Attorney General's Office. And this is one form of our collaboration (Prosecutor's Office and Polri). And coincidentally, one of the alleged (suspects) is an officer from our institution (Febrie).

Anang explained that the process will proceed concurrently, as the Acting Jampidsus, Rudi Margono, also holds the position of Inspector General (Jamwas). This dual role is expected to facilitate the resolution of Febrie Adriansyah's case. However, Adriansyah has not yet been examined by Jamwas, and there is no set schedule for his examination by Jampidsus.

So it will proceed concurrently. Coincidentally, the Acting Jampidsus also doubles as Jamwas. That will be one of the considerations to make it easier (to resolve Febrie's case).

Anang requested patience, stating that Kejagung is still in the process of handling the administrative transfer of the case. Once all procedures are complete, a decision will be made, and the public will be informed. The police, who initially named Adriansyah a suspect, have also not yet interrogated him.
