Indonesia Plans Hercules Aircraft MRO Facility at Kertajati Airport

Indonesia's Ministry of Defense is in the early stages of planning a C-130 Hercules aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Kertajati International Airport in Majalengka, West Java. The project remains conceptual, with no definitive timeline for commencement.

Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, head of the Defense Information Bureau at the Ministry of Defense, stated that the government is still refining the concept for developing a national aerospace ecosystem at Kertajati. This includes the gradual development of MRO facilities for both commercial and military needs. He emphasized that numerous factors, including technical aspects of cooperation agreements, facility construction, and operational models, must be carefully considered.
