Indonesia Rallies Support for Home Riders Ahead of 2026 MotoGP

PT Pertamina and PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (InJourney Tourism Development Corporation) are rallying support for Indonesia's homegrown racing talent, Mario Suryo Aji and Veda Ega Pratama, ahead of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia. The riders will compete in Moto2 and Moto3, respectively, at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok.

A "Fans Meet & Greet" event in Jakarta saw enthusiastic participation from fans, media, and automotive communities. The event included a convoy featuring Aji and Pratama, drawing warm welcomes from supporters along the route. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by a performance from the band RAN.

Both riders expressed their excitement about competing on home soil. "I am proud to race in Mandalika as the host. Mas Mario and I will definitely give our best for Indonesia," said Veda Ega Pratama. "I can't wait to feel the race atmosphere in front of our own supporters. Hopefully, the Indonesian people will fill the circuit stands and give us direct support."

Troy Warokka, ITDC Operations Director and Chairman of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, emphasized that the presence of Aji and Pratama demonstrates Indonesia's capability to host international-class motorcycle racing while also producing world-class talent. He noted that the Grand Prix generates significant economic impact and showcases Indonesia's capacity for large-scale international events, serving as a platform for emerging Indonesian racers.
