Indonesia's Finance Minister Appreciates Lippo Group's 30 Hectare Land Donation for Housing Program

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa expressed gratitude to Lippo Group for its donation of 30 hectares of land in Meikarta. This land will bolster the government's ambitious program to build 3 million housing units. The handover ceremony took place at Wisma Danantara in Jakarta on June 29, 2026.

Minister Purbaya emphasized the Finance Ministry's commitment to expediting administrative processes and inter-agency coordination. This swift action is crucial to ensure the donated land is utilized effectively. "We will expedite any project that benefits the public and the state," Purbaya stated, as reported by the Finance Ministry's press release on June 30, 2026.

The land donation signifies a crucial synergy between the government and the private sector, aligning with President Prabowo Subianto's "Asta Cita" priority agenda. Providing decent and accessible housing is a strategic government effort aimed at improving public welfare.

The donated asset is slated to become state capital for the Danantara Investment Management Body. It will be managed through sound business practices, ensuring its utilization supports the 3 million housing program without drawing from the state budget. The entire process will adhere to legal regulations, emphasizing good governance and transparency. Collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Agraria and Tata Ruang/National Land Agency, and Danantara is planned, with oversight from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and the Attorney General's Office to ensure professional execution. Purbaya hopes this land donation will serve as a model for government, business, and stakeholder collaboration in addressing national development challenges and fulfilling the public's need for adequate housing.
