Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen has made a stunning debut at Wimbledon, defeating 22nd seed Leylah Fernandez of Canada in the opening round. The victory, achieved in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 7-6 (3), marks a significant upset at the prestigious Grand Slam tournament.

Tjen, 24, from Jakarta, dominated the first set, breaking Fernandez's serve in the opening game and securing a commanding 5-1 lead before closing it out 6-1. The second set proved more challenging, with both players holding serve to force a tiebreak.

In the tiebreak, Tjen displayed composure and effectiveness, leading from the start to secure the set 7-3 and clinch her place in the second round. The match lasted 1 hour and 29 minutes, with Tjen outperforming Fernandez in key statistics, including aces, winners, and unforced errors.
