Indonesian BNN Uncovers 715 Drug Cases, Seizes Narcotics Worth $211.4 Billion Rupiah

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Indonesia has reported a major success in its fight against illicit drugs, concluding its "Saber Bersinar 2026" (Clean Operation of Narcotics 2026) operation with the disclosure of 715 drug-related cases. This extensive operation, conducted across various channels including air, sea, land, and expeditionary services, underscores the pervasive nature of the drug trade within the archipelago and the BNN's commitment to combating it.

The scale of the seizure is substantial, with authorities confiscating 136.5 kg of crystal methamphetamine (sabu), 147 kg of marijuana, 1,260 ml of etomidate, 1,029 grams of ketamine, and 6,681 ecstasy pills. The total estimated value of these confiscated narcotics amounts to a staggering Rp211.4 billion. This significant haul not only disrupts drug trafficking networks but also represents a substantial financial blow to criminal organizations operating within Indonesia.

In the operation, BNN uncovered 715 drug cases through air, expeditionary delivery, land, and sea routes, securing 31 suspects and evidence including 136.5 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 147 kg of marijuana, 1,260 ml of etomidate, 1,029 grams of ketamine, and 6,681 ecstasy pills with a value reaching Rp211.4 billion.

BNN officials, including the Acting Deputy of Eradication, Roy Hardi Siahaan, presented the evidence during a press conference in Jakarta. The agency estimates that the success of this operation has potentially saved the lives of approximately 353,000 individuals, highlighting the BNN's perspective on the life-saving impact of their drug interdiction efforts. This operation reflects Indonesia's stringent stance on drug offenses and the continuous efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb the supply and demand of illegal substances within the country.
