Indonesian Deputy Speaker Meets Anti-Corruption Figures, Discusses Asset Recovery Bill

Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), held a meeting with prominent anti-corruption activists and former leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The discussions took place at Ahmad's office within the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta.

The meeting, which Ahmad shared on his personal Instagram account, included notable figures such as former KPK leaders Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas and Chandra M. Hamzah. Senior journalist Bambang Harymurti and activists Natalia Soebagjo, Meuthia Gani Rochman, Felia Salim, Metta Dharmasaputra, and Arsil were also in attendance.

According to Ahmad, the participants engaged in extensive discussions regarding corruption eradication strategies. Key topics included measures for prevention, enhancing the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts, and ensuring optimal deterrence. The group also provided input on the Asset Recovery Bill, which is currently under deliberation in the DPR.

Ahmad conveyed his appreciation for the insights and aspirations shared during the meeting. He stressed the importance of collaboration, stating, "Together, we will give the best for Indonesia."
