Indonesian emergency team provides aid to earthquake-stricken villages in NTT

An emergency response team from PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU), working alongside Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), has provided critical aid to communities in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), affected by a recent earthquake.

The relief efforts focused on three villages in Reok District: Lemarang, Robek, and Paralando. The aid package was comprehensive, addressing immediate needs with temporary shelter materials such as tarpaulins, blankets, and mats. It also included essential items for vulnerable groups like babies and women, such as diapers, sanitary pads, baby oil, and formula milk.

In a disaster situation, speed and accuracy of response are very important. ERT MHU must always be ready to move with ESDM and related elements, be present directly at the location, and see the real needs of the community.

Beyond material supplies, the ERT MHU team offered vital health services, conducting medical check-ups and distributing necessary medicines. They also supported affected areas by providing clean water systems and assisting with search and rescue operations, including the evacuation of residents' belongings. Psychosocial support and trauma healing were also extended to the community in Paralando Village.

Kemal Djamil Siregar, President Director of PT MHU, stressed the critical importance of swift and precise action during disaster management. He stated that the ERT MHU is committed to being readily available to collaborate with ESDM and other relevant entities, ensuring direct presence and accurate assessment of community needs on the ground. The company hopes its support will significantly alleviate the burden on those impacted by the earthquake.
