Indonesian Minister Admits Key Government Programs Fall Short of Success

Coordinating Minister Zulkifli Hasan has acknowledged that several key programs initiated by President Prabowo Subianto's administration have not yet achieved success, with the two-year mark of the presidency approaching. Hasan specifically pointed to the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, managed by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), and the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP) program as facing significant challenges.

While admitting that some programs, like those related to rice and corn, have been successfully completed within a year, Hasan described the BGN and KDMP programs as "very big homework." The KDMP program, in particular, involves 82,000 villages, indicating the scale of the undertaking. The government is currently focused on organizing cooperatives in mountainous regions, with a stated aim to ensure that the majority of people benefit from the KDMP program by October 20, 2026.

Efforts to obtain comment from the Minister of the State Secretariat and the Head of the Government Communication Agency were ongoing at the time of reporting, with no immediate response received.
