Indonesian Minister of Forestry Pledges Support to KPK in Corruption Probe

Indonesia's Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, has declared his ministry's unwavering commitment to supporting the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in its anti-corruption efforts. This statement comes amid the KPK's deepening investigation into a bribery case involving the Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Suhardiman Amby, which has reportedly touched upon issues related to the release of forest areas.

Minister Antoni affirmed that he, along with his ministry's staff, stands ready to assist the KPK. The KPK previously announced it would investigate a meeting between Regent Suhardiman Amby and Minister Antoni on June 2, 2026. This meeting reportedly discussed proposals from the Kuansing Regency Government concerning the resolution of forest area issues overlapping with community land. The KPK had named Suhardiman a suspect in a case of alleged bribery for office and/or gratification related to the release of Limited Production Forest Areas (HPT), uncovered through an operation on June 29, 2026.
