Indonesian Ministry Confirms 15-Day Managerial Training for Village Cooperatives

Indonesia's Ministry of Cooperatives has clarified that the managerial training for participants in the Sarjana Penggerak Pembangunan Indonesia (SPPI) program will remain at 15 days. This confirmation addresses a previous statement by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Donny Ermawan Taufanto, which indicated an extension of the managerial training to one month.

Destry Anna Sari, Deputy for Talent Development and Competitiveness at the Ministry of Cooperatives, stated that the Ministry of Defense has since corrected its earlier announcement. She explained that the cooperative management material will still be delivered over the last two weeks of the training. This will run parallel to the training for the "red and white" village and fishing cooperatives.

Yesterday, the Deputy Minister of Defense corrected his statement. The managerial material remains for two weeks, in parallel for the Red and White Village Cooperatives and the Red and White Fishing Villages.

The SPPI program's educational and training phase is the final step before participants are appointed as managers. Originally, the training was planned for 45 days, including 30 days of basic military training and 15 days of managerial training. However, following the deaths of five participants during the basic military training, the Ministry of Defense revised the curriculum. The basic military training was changed to defense education, and the managerial training duration was confirmed as two weeks.

Defense education is also shortened to two weeks. Then the remaining one month is for education and training management, depending on where this SPPI is headed.
