Indonesian Official Hopes Every Child Receives Love and Protection

Yane Bima Arya, a key figure in Indonesia's Integrated Posyandu Service Team, stressed the importance of children receiving comprehensive love and protection from their families, communities, and environment. Speaking at the National Children's Day commemoration in Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, she called for a continuous effort to safeguard children.

Arya noted that the government and various stakeholders are actively engaged in programs focused on child welfare. The Posyandu team, in particular, is working to transform six areas of Minimum Service Standards to ensure children are protected, healthy, and intelligent. She underscored that parental involvement is critical for a child's growth and character development, emphasizing the need for early and ongoing support.

This support, Arya explained, is vital not only during early childhood but also extends into adolescence, a period when young people are exploring their identities. Optimal guidance during these formative years helps children develop into well-rounded individuals. She also urged parents to be good listeners, providing a non-judgmental space for children to share their experiences.

"Our duty as parents is to accompany them continuously. We must be good listeners. We should not judge them when they make mistakes. We must remain a good confidant, the best for our children," Arya stated, reinforcing the idea that open communication and unwavering support are essential for nurturing children's well-being.
