Indonesian Police Arrest Two Executives Over Illegal 'Laughing Gas' Production

Indonesian police have detained two top executives, identified as AH and JH, from PT Suplaindo Sukses Sejahtera, the company behind the branded nitrous oxide product "Whip Pink." The arrests were made as the two individuals were named suspects in an investigation into the alleged misuse of the gas.

According to the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit, AH and JH have been held at the Bareskrim Polri detention center since Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Their detention is expected to last for twenty days, until August 10, 2026. Investigators stated that AH, the owner, and JH, who holds a formal legal position within the company, played interconnected roles in managing PT SSS.

The investigation revealed that PT SSS produced the Whip Pink gas without the necessary permits or distribution approval from the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). The executives have been charged under Article 435 of the Health Law. However, the legal team representing AH and JH has contested this charge, arguing that nitrous oxide should be classified as a food additive, not a substance regulated under the Health Law.

Their lawyer has requested a special review of the case to examine the legal basis for the charges. The company's products were reportedly manufactured without proper legality or distribution permits for the branded laughing gas.
