Indonesia's National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has issued a stern directive to all law enforcement units, ordering decisive and proportionate action against drug lords and kingpins. This command comes in the wake of a tragic incident where an officer from the Katingan Police Narcotics Unit, Aipda Yudhie Perdana Putra, lost his life while attempting to apprehend a drug suspect.

The fatal encounter occurred in Tumbang Kalemei village, Katingan Tengah, Central Kalimantan. According to reports, the operation was initiated based on community information regarding suspected methamphetamine trafficking. The target, identified by the initials BIO, was reportedly a repeat offender in drug cases. When a team of 12 officers attempted the arrest, the situation escalated dramatically.

Sources indicate that while the primary suspect was initially secured, individuals inside the house and surrounding villagers resisted violently, armed with machetes. The resistance intensified as more people joined the assault, using machetes and homemade firearms. In the ensuing chaos, officers were forced to retreat, some swimming across a river to seek refuge in the forest while calling for backup. During this violent confrontation, Aipda Yudhie Perdana Putra sustained fatal injuries from sharp weapons.
