Indonesian Police Chief Rotates 424 Senior and Mid-Ranking Officers

Indonesia’s police leadership has reassigned 424 senior and mid-ranking officers under three telegrams issued on August 30.

Police public relations chief Johnny Eddizon Isir said the changes formed part of organizational management and career development. He said new appointments considered institutional needs, along with officers’ competence, experience and the demands of their duties.

A total of 344 personnel received promotions or new assignments. Others completed or began training, or entered retirement. The reshuffle covers strategic positions at national police headquarters and in regional commands.

Among the senior changes, Inspector General Roycke Harry Langie moved from North Sulawesi police chief to chief assistant for operations. He replaced Commissioner General Muhammad Fadil Imran, who became a senior officer at the operations staff in preparation for retirement. Brigadier General Yudo Hermanto became North Sulawesi police chief.

Brigadier General Hengki Haryadi moved from deputy police chief in Riau to lead the Southwest Papua police, while Brigadier General Yulius Audie Sonny Latuheru took a training role. Brigadier General Simson Zet Ringu became Riau’s deputy police chief, and Brigadier General D.I. Susetio Cahyadi became deputy police chief in North Maluku. At headquarters, Inspector General Jawari became assistant police chief for human resources, replacing Inspector General Anwar, who was reassigned before retirement.

The rotation and reassignment are part of organizational dynamics and personnel career development. Placements in new positions have naturally been adjusted to organizational needs, personnel competence and the challenges of their duties.
