Indonesian Police Generals Set for Retirement in 2026

Several high-ranking Indonesian police officials, holding the rank of Komisaris Jenderal (three-star general), are slated to retire in 2026. This retirement wave is dictated by the revised Indonesian Police Law, which sets the mandatory retirement age.

Personnel born in 1968 will reach the age of 58 in 2026, marking the standard retirement threshold. Among those affected are the Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam), Komjen Karyoto, and the Head of the National Police's Operational Support (Astamaops), Komjen Fadil Imran. Both were born in 1968 and will turn 58 this year.

Additionally, the Deputy Chief of the National Police (Wakapolri), Komjen Dedi Prasetyo, also born in 1968, is expected to receive a one-year service extension. This extension is anticipated through a Presidential Decree, a provision available for officers meeting specific criteria. While some generals will retire as planned, others like Prasetyo may continue their service.
