Indonesian Police Seize 3.1 Kg of Marijuana from Wanted Dealer

Authorities in West Aceh, Indonesia, have seized 3.1 kilograms of marijuana from a suspect identified as MJ, a 56-year-old resident of Nagan Raya Regency. The arrest is part of an ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking in the region.

According to AKP Shandy Saputra, head of the West Aceh Narcotics Investigation Unit, MJ was a known dealer and had been on the police's wanted list. His arrest followed an investigation into a previous drug case, leading officers to the village of Rundeng in Aceh Barat.

During the initial operation, police found one kilogram of marijuana. Following MJ's confession that he had more stashed at his home, officers conducted a search in Nagan Raya. There, they discovered an additional 2.1 kilograms of marijuana hidden in a water storage urn, along with a digital scale believed to be used for distribution.

Saputra emphasized that the successful operation demonstrates the police's commitment to disrupting the drug trade. The seizure, totaling 3.1 kilograms, is a significant blow to local drug networks.
