Indonesian police to exhume body in suspicious death case

Investigators from Polda Metro Jaya are preparing to exhume the body of Sutrimo, who is reportedly the former chief of household staff for ex-Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah. The decision comes after the circumstances surrounding Sutrimo's death were deemed suspicious.

Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, confirmed that the exhumation process is underway. Ekshumasi, the process of excavating a grave to retrieve a buried body, is being conducted to re-examine the case and clarify the cause of death.

The family of Sutrimo had previously filed an official report regarding his death with Polresta Banyumas on Saturday, August 8. Suting, Sutrimo's sibling, and their child Abhi, who hold power of attorney from the heirs, made the report accompanied by a family spokesperson.

Initially, the family stated they had no suspicions about the death, as they believed it to be straightforward. However, the spokesperson mentioned that conflicting and unclear media reports led to concerns and prompted the formal complaint. Sutrimo was found dead on July 23 at the Mordent Clinic. Investigators had previously questioned several witnesses, including a relative who last saw Sutrimo on July 22, and the ambulance drivers who transported the body to Banyumas.
