Indonesian school launches AI-integrated learning model for the future

Al Azhar Insan Cendekia Jatibening (AICJ) school in Indonesia has initiated its academic year with a forward-thinking approach, introducing a new learning model designed to prepare students for the age of artificial intelligence. During the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) for the 2026/2027 academic year, the school launched 'Artificial Intelligence Meaningful and Religious Learning' (AIM RL), integrating AI into its educational framework.

The introduction of AIM RL signifies AICJ's commitment to equipping students with the necessary skills and values for the future. The model aims to foster students who are faithful, cultured, intelligent, and adaptive, by blending Islamic principles with scientific knowledge, technological literacy, creativity, and critical thinking. This initiative was presented not just as a ceremony, but as a platform for dialogue on the future of Indonesian education amidst rapid AI advancements.

Key figures participated in the launch, including Prof. Dr. M. Baiquni from Universitas Gadjah Mada, who emphasized the importance of preserving humanism, ethics, and culture in education within the AI era. Prof. Muchtadi Intan Detiena discussed the evolving educational landscape and the competencies students need from an early age to face future challenges.

Ir. Mustafa Kamil Thahir, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Darul Muqomah Sridjati, formally introduced the AIM RL model. The school also solidified its commitment by signing strategic cooperation agreements with various educational partners to build a robust learning ecosystem. Furthermore, the Jatibening Declaration 2026 was announced, underscoring a collective pledge to develop education centered on strengthening character, knowledge, and technology, alongside the responsible utilization of AI.

Through AIM RL, AICJ aspires to produce graduates who excel academically while embodying integrity, critical thinking, creativity, leadership, and social responsibility. The school emphasizes preparing students for global changes without losing their identity, ethics, and Islamic values. The event concluded with a symbolic handover of educational responsibility, reinforcing the idea that educational success is a collaborative effort involving the foundation, teachers, parents, and students.
