Indonesian Scouts Join International Camp in Thailand to Build Leadership

Scouting activities continue to be a vital platform for developing character and leadership in young people through international collaboration. This was evident at the International Education Adventure 4.0 (Scout Camp 2026), which brought together students from Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia in Sadao, Songkhla Province, Thailand, from July 20-23, 2026.

Indonesia was represented by several invited schools, including a contingent from IDN Jonggol Scout School in Bogor Regency. These students engaged in various educational, leadership, scouting, cultural exchange, and historical site visits in Songkhla Province. Muhammad Reza Pahlevi, a mentor from IDN Boarding School's Scout Quarter, noted that this was the fourth iteration of the event organized by Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School. IDN Boarding School has been a consistent participant since 2022.

"Alhamdulillah, this event is extraordinary. IDN Boarding School has always participated since the first time in 2022, then 2023, 2024, and now in 2026," Pahlevi stated. He explained that the event also receives strong support from Malaysia's Ministry of Education, generating significant enthusiasm from schools in that country. This year, nearly all Malaysian provinces sent participants. "Meanwhile, only four schools from Indonesia were invited, and one of them is IDN Boarding School. This is an honor and a trust for us," he added.

Over the four days, participants experienced scouting, outbound activities, cultural performances, and educational tours. Pahlevi highlighted that the program provided valuable experiences in building cooperation, leadership, and international friendships. "The entire series of activities went smoothly, was very meaningful, and offered an extraordinary experience for all participants, especially the students of IDN Boarding School," he said. The IDN Boarding School contingent comprised 15 students accompanied by three teachers. Pahlevi expressed hope that the international camp experience would inspire the development of scouting activities in Indonesia. "God willing, activities like this can become an inspiring idea that we can emulate and develop in Indonesia, providing even more memorable experiences for participants," he concluded. The event was officially opened by a Thai government official and attended by representatives from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia and the Malaysian Embassy in Songkhla Province. Indonesia's participation is expected to strengthen international networks and enhance youth leadership capacity through scouting.
