Authorities report that the victim and suspect had a consensual sexual encounter once in May 2026. Their relationship reportedly ended in June 2026 when the suspect began showing interest in another girl at school. Following the breakup, the victim allegedly threatened to inform the suspect's parents about their past intimacy.

This threat reportedly caused the suspect significant fear, leading him to consider suicide before ultimately deciding to silence the victim. After the victim requested to meet one last time, the suspect allegedly brought a bottle of kerosene and a kitchen knife, which he had hidden on his motorcycle.

The victim threatened the perpetrator that she would tell the perpetrator's parents where the perpetrator had already had sexual relations with the victim.

During the meeting, the suspect initially intended to stab the victim, but the plan was thwarted when the victim noticed the knife and attempted to flee. The suspect pursued her, eventually pushing her into bushes, strangling her until she was incapacitated, and then dousing her body with kerosene before setting her on fire.
