Indonesian Vice Defense Minister discusses special class with UI Rector

Indonesia's Vice Minister of Defense, Donny Ermawan Taufanto, met with the Rector of Universitas Indonesia, Heri Hermansyah, to discuss a potential collaboration on a special international class within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). The meeting, held at the Vice Minister's office in Jakarta, focused on enhancing the knowledge and capacity of human resources within the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

This partnership is envisioned through a study-abroad program across various faculties at Universitas Indonesia. The Vice Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening defense human resources as a foundation for building national defense capabilities. He stated that collaboration with universities is a key step "to produce superior and competent defense human resources capable of responding to the increasingly complex strategic environment."

The discussion also covered the expansion of the existing cooperation, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Defense and Universitas Indonesia. While details on the expansion were not specified, both parties explored the possibility of including other faculties relevant to the Ministry's programs. The meeting was attended by Pangkohanudnas, Dirjen Kuathan Kemhan, and the Deputy for Geopolitics of DPN.
