Indonesian Vice Minister Lays Foundation for Community Kindergarten

Indonesia's Vice Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Fajar Riza Ul Haq, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the TK Aisyiyah Pembina Banguntapan kindergarten. This initiative is a component of the government's broader educational facility revitalization program, aimed at strengthening infrastructure and improving access to quality education, particularly for community-managed institutions. The ministry has committed to covering the construction costs, signaling a strong partnership with community organizations. Fajar Riza Ul Haq expressed optimism that the project will be completed promptly, enhancing the learning environment and educational opportunities for the local community. He highlighted the spirit of mutual cooperation, or 'gotong royong' and 'ta'awun,' characteristic of Aisyiyah and Muhammadiyah organizations. The Vice Minister emphasized that government support extends beyond state-run schools to private institutions managed by various community groups, including Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah, acknowledging their extensive reach, even into remote areas like Wakatobi. He encouraged Aisyiyah schools to focus on improving educational quality and becoming model institutions, rather than solely pursuing quantitative growth. This focus on quality is seen as crucial for nurturing future generations and maintaining Aisyiyah's legacy of over a century in education.
