Indonesian YouTuber Faces Police Probe Over Alleged Minor Vape Promotion

Indonesian YouTuber Muhammad Jannah, widely known as Bigmo, has been reported to the Polda Metro Jaya for allegedly involving underage children in promoting vape liquid during a live stream. The complaint was lodged with the Directorate for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (PPA-PPO) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, confirmed that the report concerns alleged economic exploitation of children through social media live broadcasts. He stated that the investigation is in the initial stages, as the identities of the alleged child victims are yet to be confirmed. The Directorate PPA-PPO is actively working to identify the children involved and thoroughly investigate the reported incident.

Following the controversy, Bigmo released a video apology on his YouTube channel, Niceguymo. He expressed deep regret for his actions and words, which he admitted caused public disturbance. "I admit that what I did was a mistake and cannot be justified," he stated in the apology video.

Bigmo acknowledged his failure as a content creator to understand and adhere to regulations, particularly concerning products containing nicotine, which are intended solely for adult consumers. He emphasized that content creators must exercise greater caution and responsibility in their public presentations, both in speech and action, to avoid such missteps.
